About Dr. Dan Rubin

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice and an adjunct professor of psychology at Maitripa College where I teach courses on the intersection of Buddhism and psychology.

Over the last 14 years, I have also worked in a wide range of mental health care settings, including: psychiatric hospitals, college counseling centers, special education schools, non-profit clinics, and medical centers.

With a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in 2007, I have extensive training in evidence-based forms of psychotherapy, as well, including: acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), and mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR). My other specialty trainings include: relational psychoanalytic psychotherapy, play therapy, couples therapy, and contemplative psychotherapy.

As part of my practice, I lead support groups for and offer consultation services to health care professionals. Call me at (503) 894-3068 or email me at danrubinpsyd@gmail.com to learn more. You can also click here to view my CV.

I have been studying and practicing Buddhist meditation and philosophy for more than 17 years, and have been a Shambhala Buddhist practitioner since 2004.
